What is FIRST?

FIRST is a worldwide nonprofit organization that provides opportunities for students to compete in team robotics competitions. It empowers people ages 4-18 to design and build their own robots, plan outreach opportunities, request funding from sponsors, compete in tournaments, learn public speaking skills and problem solving, and participate in tournaments. FIRST also gives participants the ability to learn more about career opportunities in the field of STEM, which will aid them in seeking out a job in this field.

What is FTC?

FIRST® Tech Challenge students work together with their mentors to design and build robots to compete in a dynamic and exciting challenge released every September. Teams program classroom-scale robots to follow autonomous commands before student drivers take control in two-on-two matches. On and off the field, students develop STEM skills, engage in community outreach, practice engineering innovation, and build confidence to help them succeed.

Decode, the game for the upcoming season, will be released on September 6, 2025.
